We believe in doing a few things well rather than everything poorly. Our practice is focused on estate planning, probate, real estate, civil litigation, family law, business law, and elder law β and we have deep experience in each of those areas. But there are several important areas of law that require specialized expertise we don't offer.
Our practice serves clients primarily in Bucks County and the surrounding area in these core areas:
Estate Planning & Administration β Wills, trusts, powers of attorney, probate, inheritance tax, and Orphans' Court proceedings.
Real Estate & Property Law β Closings, deed preparation, title issues, transfer tax, partition actions, zoning, and property disputes.
Civil Litigation β Contract disputes, business litigation, landlord-tenant, consumer protection, and appeals.
Family Law β Divorce, custody, support, PFA orders, name changes, and prenuptial agreements.
Business Law β Entity formation, LLC operating agreements, commercial leases, contracts, and business dissolution.
Elder Law β Medicaid planning, asset protection, guardianship, special needs trusts, and long-term care planning.
We don't handle the following types of cases. This isn't a judgment on their importance β these areas require specialized training, different insurance, or dedicated infrastructure that is outside our practice model.
Criminal defense. If you've been charged with a crime β DUI, drug offenses, assault, theft, or any other criminal matter β you need a criminal defense attorney. The procedural rules, constitutional issues, and stakes are fundamentally different from civil practice.
Personal injury and medical malpractice. Car accidents, slip-and-fall injuries, workplace injuries resulting in personal injury claims, and medical malpractice cases are handled by plaintiff's firms that typically work on contingency (no fee unless they win). These cases require specific expertise in damages assessment, medical evidence, and insurance negotiation.
Workers' compensation. Pennsylvania workers' comp has its own administrative system, judges, and procedures. Dedicated workers' comp attorneys handle these cases exclusively.
Immigration. Federal immigration law is its own specialty with its own courts, agencies, and procedures. An immigration attorney is essential for visa applications, green cards, asylum, deportation defense, and employment-based immigration.
Bankruptcy. Federal bankruptcy proceedings (Chapter 7, 11, and 13) require specific federal court admission and expertise. A bankruptcy attorney can evaluate whether filing is appropriate and guide you through the process.
Tax preparation and accounting. We handle the legal aspects of estate administration, including inheritance tax returns. But we are not CPAs and don't prepare individual or business tax returns. For tax planning and preparation, you need a certified public accountant or enrolled agent.
Bucks County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service. The local bar association maintains a referral service that can connect you with an attorney who practices in the area you need. Contact information is available on the Bucks County Bar Association website.
Pennsylvania Bar Association. The statewide bar association also offers a lawyer referral service for all practice areas and all counties.
Ask around. If you have an attorney you trust in any practice area, ask them for a referral. Lawyers refer to each other constantly β we know who does good work.
Call us. If you reach out to us about something outside our practice, we won't just say "we can't help." We'll try to point you toward someone who can. That's the professional thing to do, and it's how we'd want to be treated.
Free consultations available for most practice areas.
